Integrative Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy should be a time of happiness and excitement as you await the arrival of your new baby.  The reality is each trimester brings with it a whole new set of discomforts.

1st Trimester: During the first trimester, mom is overcoming fatigue, morning sickness, and anxiety for what’s to come.  This is just the beginning of your prenatal journey.

2nd Trimester: The second trimester brings on the pain!  Back and hip pains are very common complaints.  If that weren’t enough, your breasts begin to swell as they prepare to nurture your baby.

3rd Trimester: The third trimester is the home stretch, both figurative and literal.  Many moms experience swollen feet and ankles.  Along with that comes pain in the lower extremities due to your body preparing itself for childbirth.

Regardless of where you’re at in your pregnancy, massage helps lessen the discomfort that comes with each trimester.  This knowledge comes first hand as both a trained prenatal massage therapist and a mother myself.   I have a full understanding of sudden nausea, frequent bathroom breaks, and other issues that are unique to your situation.

The best part is it’s not just about prenatal soothing.  Massage relieves many of the discomforts experienced immediately after birth and helps return a mother’s body back to its pre-pregnancy state!

Your prenatal wellness massage sessions should follow your OB appointments – increasing the frequency further along into your pregnancy.  Trinity Massage Haven makes investing in your prenatal wellness simple.

Oncology Massage

Many massage therapists are not prepared to responsibly work with active patients or survivors of cancer. My specific training in Oncology Massage, direct experience serving survivors, people in active cancer treatment as well as hospice care allows me to tailor each massage to each individual.

For patients in the active fight of their life, massage is a welcomed relief to the trials of radiation, chemotherapy, or recovery from surgery. Helping you reduce anxiety and pain while feeling more connected to a person. You’re not just seeing another medical professional, but someone who is focused on your overall wellbeing and promoting comfort.

Benefits of Massage for patients or survivors of cancer:

  • Reduce anxiety
  • Improve sleep
  • Decrease sense of isolation
  • Increase feelings of wellbeing
  • Reduce the perception of pain
  • Improve quality of life
  • Increase alertness and mental clarity
  • Reduce nausea
  • Bring a pleasant distraction

For additional information on the history, benefits, and research of Oncology Massage, visit Society for Oncology Massage, to get answers to these questions and more:

  • What are cancer patients saying about oncology massage?
  • What people in the medical community are saying about massage?
  • Why isn’t a physician’s approval for massage enough?

It was once believed that massage could cause cancer to metastasize (grow and spread). Oncology Massage is the adjustment of massage approaches in order to safely work with the effects of cancer and treatment. This includes people in active treatment, those in recovery or survivorship, as well as those at the end of life.

Integrative Therapeutic Massage sessions are created to treat your whole body or specific regions of acute or chronic pain. Whether your needs are as straightforward as general relaxation or as intense as chronic dysfunction, you’re in the right hands. You won’t get ordinary massages here, what you will receive is the experience and skill you need to fight and manage your pain and maintain lasting results.

My goal is to design the most effective session for your body’s needs; your massage may include the following:

Full Sessions are created to treat the whole body and include 90-120 minutes of extensive, hands-on bodywork. If you are a new client, experiencing widespread pain, or have more than one problem area, this is the most well-suited session.
